If you fold your hand, you DO NOT have to show it. Unless you were playing in a tourney where that rule was made. Second, as soon as the hand even touches the burn pile, it's gone. I learned this the hard way. But he is your brother so I would play with him again, he just needs to know the rules....p.s. get a different dealer! lol First of all the dealer is not right at all!
